A Most Patriotic Call to Action |
Five weeks left. That’s 35 days of reaching out to every voter we can to make sure they understand just what is on the line.
Kamala Harris appears to hold a slim lead in the battleground states but reports are there are as many as four percent undecided voters left. It is up to you and me to make sure we move them to the Harris/Walz camp and to the side of all our Democrats up and down the ballot.
That’s easy … and it’s hard. It’s easy because we have so many good stories to tell about how Democrats are standing up for the working class, for reproductive rights, for freedom in general and for democracy. And it’s easy because we can contrast all that with the very dark alternatives the Republicans offer.
It’s hard because we are talking to voters who won’t necessarily be on our side when they open that door. Look at it this way, though. Normally we might have shifted our voter outreach toward more traditional Democratic doors – to make sure they have a plan to vote. But we have done such a good job to date of locking down our voters we have the luxury – and that’s what it is – to sway those last swayable voters.
We call on you all to join this tough fight. Saving democracy isn’t suppose to be easy. But there is nothing more patriotic than stepping into whatever fear you might have to save it. And, as always, you won’t be alone. We’ll provide top-notch and thorough training every Thursday evening (recommended highly for first-timers) and we’ll send you out with an experienced canvasser that first time out. Canvassing is available Tuesdays, Thursdays and every weekend in Appleton and on most weekends in Kaukauna and Grand Chute.
You can also help with volunteer recruitment on Tuesdays or with phone bank voter outreach every Thursday.
Come late October we will switch to our Get Out the Vote canvassing, making sure every Democrats has a plan to vote. This will run through Election Day. We need every one of you for that as well.
Let's finish this! Let's bring an end to the Trump era once and for all. Our Democracy Depends on You. |
We've lost one of the good ones |
We fondly remember David Carden Greene, an active member of the Grand Chute/Greenville Outagamie Action Team, avid phone banker, artist and amazing person! David had recently experienced some medical setbacks and peacefully passed on Sept. 20. He will be remembered for his tenacious spirit and love for Democrats! David once spoke during a public comment session at a Grand Chute Town Board meeting, receiving applause for his eloquent commentary when he called to task bad governing by some board members. He gave countless hours phone banking and brought us countless laughs along the way! David, we will miss you immensely! |
Another big batch has arrived |
If you missed out with the first round, come into the office starting at 11 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 30 and get your Harris/Walz yard signs!
We are suggesting a $5 donation per sign with a limit of two signs.
Baldwin and Lyerly signs are back in stock as well! |
The GOP is at it again |
We beat them in August when they tried to curtail the governor’s powers to the detriment of Wisconsinites. We need to beat them again in November by voting NO on the latest GOP constitutional amendment that would – no surprise – make it harder for younger people and first-time voter registrants to vote by forcing them to prove their citizenship. Please visit our web site for more information on why this is bad and then remember to flip to the back of your ballot to vote NO.
Also, don't forget to vote for Dr. Kristin Lyerly twice on you ballot, one for the full term and the other for the remainder of the current term which runs through January. |
Looked what just popped up ... a parade! |
On non-canvassing days we offer an hour of fun with our Pop Up Parades!
What are they?
We meet at a busy intersection and hold up signs proclaiming Democratic values and promoting our candidates.
They last one hour. We provide the signs. We get lots of honks of approval, lots of thumbs up and a few raised digits of the non-thumb variety.
Here is a list of pop up parades already scheduled. Pick one and sign up on at the link and we will provide you with the location on the day of the event.
Appleton Pop Ups along with the events below will be posted on our FB page so look there, too or sign up for the ones already posted below. |
We hate to keep nagging ... but let's get this write! |
We had eight letters supporting our candidates here in NE Wisconsin in the Oct. 22 Post-Crescent. We need more every Sunday between now and Election Day!
Once again, we provide all the tools you need from talking points for each candidate to district maps to the submission link to the Post-Crescent.
Candidates to write in support of include Tammy Baldwin, Dr. Kristen Lyerly, Kris Alfheim, Lee Snodgrass, Emily Tseffos, Alicia Saunders, Greg Sampson, Duane Shukoski, Kelly Peterson, Kyle Kehoe, Jason Schmitz and Ruth Caves. Limit your letters to 250 words.
If you need guidance please contact Carol Lenz at clenz@aol.com or Kelly Fenton at kellyfenton8@gmail.com.
In the past, the Post Crescent didn’t accept letters the two week prior to the election. If you live in the HOTV (Kimberly, Kaukauna, Little Chute) please submit your candidate endorsement to the Times-Villager (http://www.timesvillager.com/
Now let’s dip those quills and get writin’! |
It's Tim Walz vs. ... that weird fella |
Join your fellow Democrats and watch Coach Walz bench J.D. Vance in the vice presidential debate on Tues, Oct. 1.
It promises to be a night of mingling, jeering, and laughter at the Outagamie Democrats office at 516 W. College. |
Seeking nominations for county party officers |
Every other year, the Democratic Party of Outagamie County holds elections for Chair, Vice-chair, Secretary, and Treasurer.
