  In-person registration begins at 9:30 a.m. with the Convention opening at 10:00 a.m.

REGISTRATION FEES: In-Person - $45.00 / Student - $25.00                                                                                                                                                 

              At the Door:   $50.00 / $30.00                                                     

AGENDA ITEMS INCLUDE:

  • 8th Congressional District Constitutional Amendments and Changes

  • Election of 8th Congressional District Officers: Chair, 1st Vice-Chair, 2nd Vice-Chair, Treasurer, Secretary, DPW 8th CD Administrative Committee Representative

  • Election of DPW Platform & Resolution Committee: 3- year Member, and 1 year Alternate 

  • Discussion and voting on our Resolutions to be forwarded to the DPW for the State Convention

  • Speeches from Elected Officials and Invited Guests

  • Silent Auction

TIMELINES & DEADLINES:

  • March 12, 2025 – All Delegate & Alternate lists must be sent to both the 8th CD Secretary (Dottie LeClair / dotdem@aol.com)  

  • March 18, 2025, 5:00 p.m. – Registration Fees must be paid

  • March 19, 2025 – All County Party Resolutions must be received by the 8th CD Secretary (Dottie LeClair / dotdem@aol.com) 


REMINDER:  All Delegates and Alternates must be current members of their respective County Parties and the 8th Congressional District.  All Automatic Delegates must also be listed.

2025 8TH CD CONVENTION NOTES & REMINDERS


DELEGATE / ALTERNATE LISTS:

Delegates and Alternates must be current members of their respective County Party.  

On your list, all must be listed as either a Delegate, Alternate, or Automatic Delegate.  For your convenience, I have attached to this email, a delegate reporting form. 

Automatic Delegates are the following: County Party Chair, CD Chair, DPW Administrative Rep,  or DPW Administrative Committee member, state-elected legislative member.  These delegates are not counted in your delegate total numbers.


CANDIDATES FOR 8TH CD OFFICE:

As past practice, if anyone is interested in running for one of the 8th CD’s elected offices, please submit a short blurb containing the office you are running for, qualifications, and what you would like to see in the 8th going forward.  PLEASE submit no later than March 15, 2025 to 8th CD Secretary Dottie LeClair (dotdem@aol.com).

All candidates who have submitted will need to be nominated for election at the CD Convention.


SILENT AUCTION:

Silent Auction items are being requested from each County Party or other interested individuals.  Please contact Gail Mandli (gamandli@yahoo.com) with a short description of your item.  If you are willing to help on this, please also contact Gail Mandli.

It would be great to have Made Locally or Made in Wisconsin items.

Remember:  All profits from the Silent Auction remain with the CD and the profits from the Convention itself are divided 50/50 between the CD and the host County Party.

As part of the North OAT’s efforts to get involved in important community affairs, we are asking you to take action to help save some valuable resources that are being threatened by the closure of the UW-Fox Valley campus in June.  It’s sad enough that folks are losing jobs and students are losing a local educational resource but the future of so many popular facilities connected to the campus is suddenly in doubt as well.   DPOC Monthly Meeting Minutes - UNAPPROVED February 10, 2025, 7:00 pm Welcome and Call to Order : Vice Chair Fenton called meeting to order at 7:01pm and led the pledge/land promise. Approval of minutes : Mary Kohrell shared the January meeting minutes.  Dale Schaber/Penny Bernard Schaber motion/second to approve January 13, 2025 meeting minutes.  Motion carried. Kohrell stated that she will begin sharing meeting minutes digitally rather than printing them for future meetings. Treasurers report : Alyssa Vandenberg shared the Treasurer’s report. Our current balance is $61,641, with $1527 in January revenues and $3115 in expenses.  Cindy Carter/Ronna Swift motion/second to approve Treasurer’s report. College What: Volunteer Appreciation and Gathering How: Sign up or just show up   We are barely two weeks out from the election and we’re all still coping with the traumatic results in whatever ways we can. Some of us are rageful, others grieving. Some of us are numb and tuned out. Others are already thinking about next steps and resistance.   Those of you who poured yourself into the campaign probably have an added layer of feelings, whether it is frustration, futility, disbelief or simple exhaustion. We hope that pride is what you ultimately land on because you have so much reason to feel proud.
